Setting 1: Volcano event!

This week it is time for your characters to be volcano'd!

Today [this week IRL] will be overcast with heavy ash in the air, and very windy. Around 7:30AM, the island's mountain will begin pouring out ominous dark clouds very fast, followed by several loud, cannon-like explosions that shake the island a little as it jets hot rock and magma. Lava won't make it all the way to the beach, but you can expect to breathe in ash, and there will be danger from flying rocks and magma!

The eruption will last 2-3 IC hours. The ash will last the entire day, and any destruction from the eruption will have to be repaired before the end of the setting tomorrow [next weekend IRL]!

EFFIE WILL FREAK THE HELL OUT AND SCREAM AND CRY. I mean, she's hearing explosions and thinking it's the arena's death canon, so she'll probably think a good handful of people have died. And will keep dying. And ... yeah she will be absolutely no help. :( Except maybe once she is in whatever the designated safe place is. Then she might try to be her upbeat self. ...but really, she'll be scared for a good, long while if left on her own.

Pepper... I'm not so sure. :/ Lava might remind her of certain unpleasant events (because molten hot). So I think she might be torn between self-preservation and Extremis-boosted saving of people if at all possible, 'cause ain't no volcano going to stop her when she's burning at however many thousand degrees it was. Of course, if option B occurs, I see her trying to fight it because possible dying?? and such.

Neither Effie nor Pepper will be in the happiest place on volcano day, but Pepper will fare a LOT better than Effie. D:
