Setting 1: TROPICAL ISLAND

Sorry for the late post, this would normally be up at least on Saturday, and possibly on Friday, before a new setting.

Our first setting is going to be the example I've used to describe the game to everyone: A deserted tropical island. When your character wakes up, the lock screen on their communicator will read, Create a settlement on the beach and secure necessities for habitation. Time limit, one-hundred and forty-four hours.

If characters attempt to swim [or who can fly] away from the island, they will "fall asleep" when they lose sight of the island, and will wake up back on the island. You can begin posting any time Monday morning, there's no need to wait for a mod announcement.

Characters will wake up on the beach. It has beautiful smooth white sand, beautiful clear blue water, and beautiful views of the absolutely nothing all in front of them, and the absolutely uninhabited mountainous jungle behind them.

The island is not very large, but it is completely unexplored, with the interior possessing substantial jungle, small rivers, and mountainous regions that will make sustained travel difficult. The beach extends around the southern and eastern parts of the island, but the northern and western parts are more cliffy and do not have significant beaches.

Characters will have six days to finish their task. In this case, it includes a sustainable settlement: which means securing -- at minimum -- food, fresh water, and shelter. The success of this particular task will be up to players to decide. If you say that your characters are working productively, and you have completed building a shelter, that's great! If you say you found a freshwater river, that's fine! Just try to make it realistic, no finding everything in the morning on day 1, or a convenient oasis with rows of corn planted next to a pre-existing structure identical to a house... and don't hog all the glory for yourself!

Your weather forecast for this task...
Day 1, beginning June 17th: Hot, sunny, clear.
Day 2, beginning June 24th: Hot. About 15 minutes of rain in the afternoon, followed immediately by bright sunshine.
Day 3, beginning July 1st: Cooler, but cloudy. Thunderstorm at night.
Day 4, beginning July 8th: Still pleasantly warm. Clear all day, windy.
Day 5, beginning July 15th: Quite hot and overcast, windy until evening.
Day 6, beginning July 22nd: Hot and overcast.

In future settings, we may announce possible twists shortly before they arise, but in this case, we're giving it to you in advance.

On day 5 of this scenario, starting in the morning around 7:30AM, the island's mountain will begin pouring out an ominous amount of dark cloud very fast, followed by several loud, cannon-like explosions that shake the island a little as it jets out hot rock and magma. There will be some lava flow, but nothing that will make it all the way to the beach; the wind will keep most of the ash headed toward the south west of the island, so while the settlement may get ash, it won't be too bad.

However, there may be some danger from breathing in the ash, and immediate danger from rocks and magma propelled into the air by the explosions. If damage is done to the settlement or stores of food and water, it must be repaired by the end of the sixth day.

The explosions will last 2-3 hours, and then taper out, leaving just the after-effects.
